Abstract From the Series:

Archival material from the noted Saturday Evening Post and The New Yorker cartoonist Charles Barsotti dating 1963-2012. Materials include cartooning project files for various companies. The bulk of the project files consist of correspondence, news clippings, rough and original illustrations, payment invoices and newsletter issues containing illustrations by Barsotti. One oversize box contains large calendars featuring illustrations by Barsotti.

The majority of the material within the collection consists of original sketches of the NiceDay pup and other characters he created for WH Smith Supplies, along with faxes mainly between Mark Steen and Charles Barsotti. Scope and Contents From the Collection:

Five folders of works, financial papers, photographs, promotional kits, and clippings, 1984-1986 contain materials from the 1985 film "The Trip to Bountiful." The collection highlights the filming of the movie and includes the screenplay and stage-play (both signed by writer Horton Foote), a copy of the budget, the main titles, photographs taken during the filming, press kits, a long press book giving background on the film, and clippings pertaining to the movie.
